  A: To remove the Knock Sensor (KS) 2, turn off the Ignition Switch and ensure the vehicle is raised and to follow relevant lifting precautions. Unbolt splash shield and drain the cooling system being careful of hot engine which can give you a burn. The reason is that there will still remain some coolant in the engine water jacket which will go down with knocking sensor removal. Secondly, unbolt the two screws at the Knock Sensor heat shield under the freeze plug or block heater if installed and disconnect the electric connector from the Knock Sensor.
