    A: Begin bank 2 Knock Sensor (KS) replacement by first turning off the Ignition Switch then safely raising the vehicle while observing all vehicle lifting safety measures. Begin by taking off splash shield bolts then draining the cooling system fluid. The maintenance procedure begins by loosening the two bolts fixing the Knock Sensor heat shield below the freeze plug and block heater on equipped vehicles. Afterward disconnect the electrical connector from the Knock Sensor. You should remove the Knock Sensor which exists inside the engine block. The sensor features a factory-coated thread system that requires factory conditions for proper detonation detection so do not use thread sealant when installing the sensor. Secure the Knock Sensor within the engine block yet maintain torque to 19 nm (14 lb ft). Place the Knock Sensor heat shield back into its correct position while securing its two bolts at 60 nm (44 lb ft). Continue by connecting the electrical connector to the Knock Sensor followed by splash shield installation. Then lower the vehicle and complete coolant filling and level verification.
