2005 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace Coil Springs on 2005 Buick Park Avenue?
A: Start the coil spring replacement by using the j 24319-b universal steering linkage puller to disconnect the adjustment link from the knuckle while elevating and sustaining the vehicle and disassembling the tire and wheel. Support the lower Control Arm by placing it on a proper jack then remove each absorber lower retaining bolt and adjustment link retaining nut. The lower Control Arm should sink onto the support assembly while using a pry bar to extract both the spring and the lower spring insulator. You should pull downwards to take off the upper insulator piece. When installing position the upper insulator into the body and the lower insulator into the Control Arm while ensuring the spring rests in the correct position. Position the lower Control Arm upward to install shock absorber lower retaining bolts that require a torque of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) then complete the assembly with an adjustment link retaining nut torque to 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). After attaching the adjustment link to the Control Arm you need to reattach the tire and wheel before lowering your vehicle.
