How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?

Begin sensor replacement by turning off ignition power and lifting up the vehicle. After disconnecting the wiring harness connector from the knock sensor you must remove the sensor from its position in the engine block. During the installation process reverse thread the new knock sensor into the engine block while avoiding thread sealant use on the sensor threads since they have factory pre-applied coatings for detonation detection. Secure the knock sensor with 19 N.m (14 lb ft) torque before attaching the wiring harness connector to the knock sensor then lowering the vehicle.
