- Q: How to replace the wiper arm (RHD) on 2005 Cadillac CTS?A: Start by positioning the wipers in park mode and opening the front hood start to fix the right hand drive Wiper Arm. Place the driver side wiper against the orange reference line at its center lower windshield tip and position the passenger side wiper alongside the orange dot marker on the innermost part of the Wiper Blade at the center bottom windshield. Drive the Wiper Arm into proper position and take off (6,3) the Wiper Arm nut (3,6) pads (2,5). When taking off the Wiper Arm for the driver side you need to disconnect the upper hood assist rods from their ball studs at the rod ends while keeping all pressure away from the liftgate/hood rod parts. Place the hood against the air inlet grille panel rearward and place a supporting stand under it. Use the Wiper Arm puller (J 39822) tool to remove the Wiper Arm from its drive spindle when this action requires the tool. Brush the wiper drive spindle knurls with a fine wire and detach the Wiper Blade from the Wiper Arm. Place the Wiper Blade on the Wiper Arm then put the passenger Wiper Arm at the orange dot on windshield bottom edge. Place driver Wiper Arm by aligning the wiper tip with the orange center line on the windshield lower center. Place the Drive Shaft Wiper Arm onto its position then fasten it with the nut (3,6) until reaching 35 n.m (26 lb ft) torque while keeping the arm steady. When installing the hood assist rods secure them to the ball studs on the hood part. Then put on wiper nut covers and operate the wipers through a wash cycle to verify the driver side wiper stays within its designated area.
