How to replace the Cam Gear for Bank 1 (Right) Exhaust on 2005 Cadillac STS?

The right exhaust camshaft position actuator needs to be taken off by removing the oil control valve to access the actuator and moving the actuator away from the alignment pin. After you detach the actuator from the camshaft timing drive take out both pieces plus clean and inspect all components. Locate the camshaft alignment pin hole at the actuator base to match with its pin while finding the timing alignment mark on the actuator front. Make sure that the actuator gear fits onto the secondary Timing Chain while lining up the actuator mark with the painted mark on the chain. Push on the actuator over the camshaft alignment pin until it sits on the shaft then secure it to the position and attach the ips valve at the right.
