To allow for installing the new HVAC control module, remove the ashtray and the radio; then, remove the HVAC control module retaining screws and loosen the electrical connectors from the HVAC module itself before pulling the module out. For installation, pick the HVAC control module and install it in its position, connect the electrical connectors into their respective places and then lock using the retaining screws tightened by 2 N.m (18 lb in). Lastly, re-install the radio and the ashtray.
