  A: The process of replacing a Radiator in an lh2 heavy duty cooling system with the vehicle in neutral requires coolant draining followed by electric cooling fan removal before upper and lower condenser mounting bolts are unfastened. The lower retaining pins of the side air baffle must be detached from the Radiator to access the Transmission Oil Cooler mounting bolts before removing those bolts. The vehicle needs to be placed into a lower position with the removal of the Fan Shroud. With hose clamp pliers (J38185) you can disconnect hose clamp tension before removing the Radiator outlet hose and Radiator inlet hose and surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator. The support bracket bolts and Radiator support brackets lead to Radiator removal after detaching the upper air baffle retaining pins from the Radiator. You should start Radiator installation by setting the new unit in place while attaching upper air baffle retaining pins. The Radiator support brackets need installation followed by fastening the Radiator support bracket bolts with torque set to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Secure the surge tank inlet hose and Radiator inlet hose and Radiator outlet hose to the Radiator by using hose clamp pliers (J38185). Reinstall the Fan Shroud, lift the vehicle and support it before installing toc mounting bolts while tightening them to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Secure the Radiator retaining pins from the bottom side air baffle before installing and torquing the lower and upper condenser mounting bolts to 5.4 nm (48 inch lbs.). After finishing install the electric cooling fan proceed with filling the cooling system.
