To replace the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, turn off the ignition and it's advisable to drain the coolant under it as vital as the ect sensor. Next, take off the Intake Manifold and disconnect ect sensor harness connector, then take off ect sensor from the right-hand Cylinder Head. When installing the new ect sensor covert threads gm p/n 1050805 or equivalent sensor and move sensor to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Following the connection of the ect sensor harness connector, replace the Intake Manifold, pour the coolant into the system, and replace the ect sensor harness connector. Handle carefully the coolant sensor, for damages to the operation of fuel control system will occur and ensure replacement parts to match the specific part number for the application with the specified torque to prevent damage.
