  A: Engine coolant needs drainage as the first step before replacing the heater core. Using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) users should relocate the outlet heater hose clamp at the heater core so they can take out the outlet heater hose. Proceed with removing the inlet heater hose after repositioning its clamp using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Lift the heater core out of the vehicle while removing the straps first, next the screws to detach the heater case assembly cover. Secure the new heater core within the vehicle by first using straps to connect it to the heater case assembly and then tighten all screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in). Press the inlet heater hose onto its connection point with the heater core and reattach the hose using Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Then connect the outlet heater hose to its port before securing the clamp with Hose Clamp Pliers J 38185. Revisualize the cooling system and proceed with filling it.
