2005 Chevrolet Cobalt Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake drum on 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: Pull up the car and support it while making sure the parking brake is free from tension. Take off the wheel and tire set first then unmount the Brake Drum. When installing the Brake Drum you must remove all rust and flaking using rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013) while also clearing off surface corrosion on the hub of the Brake Drum when needed. Clean the wheel hub flange surface using wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A). Put on the Brake Drum and tire wheel unit when the Brake Drum adjustments are done. Push the brakes down three times to let the brake pads rest in the right position inside the Brake Drum before placing the vehicle on the ground.
