How to replace the front brake calipers on 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Before replacing the front brake caliper check the brake master cylinder reservoir. If the fluid level sits at mid-range between maximum and minimum points no fluid needs to be drained. However fluid needs to be lowered to mid-range when it exceeds this level. Lift the car and detach the wheel and tire unit from the front. Apply two securely tightened wheel nuts opposite the wheel studs to hold the rotor on the hub. Press the caliper against the brake caliper body and brake pad with large c-clamp tool until the piston pushes through the brake rotor. After removing the c-clamp put away the new brake hose from the caliper using a socket wrench and dispose the stuck brake hose gaskets. To avoid leaks we need to place caps or plugs on both brake caliper and hose before removing the guide pin bolts and brake caliper from its bracket. Check if guide pins work smoothly and replace them when needed along with the boots. Install the brake caliper on the bracket by placing it over the bracket slot and driving the guide pin bolts with torque setting at 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs.). Insert new copper brake hose gaskets on the caliper and hose then attach them to the caliper with a bolt tightened to 48 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Open hydraulic brakes and remove wheel nuts before adding tire and wheel to the vehicle while lowering it. Press the Brake Pedal to 2/3 of its range while the engine is in rest mode and release it at a slow speed. Apply the Brake Pedal gently for 15 seconds before resuming to deliver a strong brake feel which allows the brake caliper pistons and pads to correctly position.
