In place of the surge tank outlet hose, remove the underhood electrical center and drain the cooling system while replacing it. Use the J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) to reposition the surge tank outlet hose clamps at the engine and then remove the hose from the surge tank outlet engine. Next, move the surge tank inlet hose clamp with the J 38185 and pull out the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank. Then, take off the surge tank nut and lift up the surge tank, using the J 38185 to restore the surge tank outlet hose clamp, then take off the surge tank outlet hose. For installation, route the surge tank outlet hose and join it to the engine tight with the hose clamp using the J 38185. If the surge tank is elevated, fix the surge tank outlet hose with a repositioning of the hose clamp. Mount the surge tank nut with a 10 Nm (89 inch lbs) on it, and reinstall the underhood electrical center and connect the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank, with the aid of the J 38185. Finally, fill the cooling system.
