How to replace the lower timing chain guide on 2005 Chevrolet Colorado?

In order to change the lower timing chain guide, disengage the timing chain tensioner shoe and move the crankshaft sprocker to create slackness. Modify the cylinder head access hole plug and the timing chain guide bolts and remove the guide. Install the new guide and reconnect the components making sure that they are aligned properly.
