    Q:
How to replace the lower timing chain guide on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The user must slide the crankshaft sprocket from its position on the crankshaft sprocket snout to obtain Timing Chain slack before removing the lower Timing Chain Guide. Beginning the procedure involves plugging out both the cylinder head access hole plug and the lower Timing Chain Guide bolts before removing the lower Timing Chain Guide from inside the engine. Position the lower Timing Chain Guide to the engine while you install lower Timing Chain Guide bolts then run a torque of 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). The next procedure includes reattaching and securing the cylinder head access hole plug at 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Complete the installation by positioning the crankshaft sprocket onto the crankshaft sprocket snout where the marked Timing Chain link faces the timing mark. Afterward install the Timing Chain tensioner shoe.

    Q:
How to replace the lower timing chain guide on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by removing the Timing Chain tensioner shoe before sliding the crankshaft sprocket off from the crankshaft sprocket snout to obtain sufficient Timing Chain slack for lower Timing Chain Guide removal. Start by removing the access hole plug from the cylinder head before unbolting the lower Timing Chain Guide. Remove the guide from the engine afterward. Install the lower Timing Chain Guide to the engine before installing lower Timing Chain Guide bolts which require tightening to 18 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Install the cylinder head access hole plug and fasten it to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Sugarcoat the crankshaft sprocket to the crankshaft sprocket snout where the marked link on the Timing Chain must match up with the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket. Then install the Timing Chain tensioner shoe.
