Apply the j 42188 ball joint separator (J 42188) between the Steering Knuckle and the outer Tie Rod end stud so that you can tighten its bolt to achieve separation. Start the procedure by taking away the j 42188 ball joint separator and outer Tie Rod end stud nut before removing the outer Tie Rod end stud from the suspension knuckle. The rear suspension adjustment link requires you to first loosen its jam nut before removing the outer Tie Rod end from this assembly. As the first step for installation insert the rear suspension adjustment link into the suspension knuckle while attaching the outer Tie Rod end. Begin with outer Tie Rod end nut installation and tighten it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) to seat the outer Tie Rod stud before continuing with an additional 160-degree rotation of the nut. Finally, verify the outer Tie Rod end nut reaches 60 nm (45 ft. Lbs.). Complete the installation process by installing the tire assembly to the wheel while lowering the vehicle then adjust wheel toe if needed along with the tightening of the rear suspension adjustment link lock nut.
