  A: The cmp sensor replacement procedure begins with the removal of the engine cover followed by removing the Spark Plug Wires as well as the ignition coil wire from the Distributor before disconnecting the cmp sensor harness connector from the Distributor. You should begin by removing Distributor Cap screws before taking away the Distributor Cap followed by rotor screws and their removal. Insert the square slot on the reluctor wheel correctly before removing the cmp sensor with its screws. When you install new screws for the Distributor Cap and cmp sensor along with the rotor screws apply thread locking compound onto them before installation. To install the cmp sensor you should place it through the reluctor wheel slot before tightening new cmp mounting screws to 2.2 n.m (20 lb in).
