Next, pull out the lifter guide bolts and the valve lifter guides, before we pull out the valve lifters. It is also necessary to clean all surfaces of the gaskets with degreaser and ensure the parts of the valve train are also clean. Check the valve lifters and cam lobes for wear and tear. For installation, prelube gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) or equivalences, apply the coating on the valve lifters and install them in their original location. Install the valve lifter guides again, also followed by the fastener notice in service precautions, install the valve lifter guide bolts, which should be tightened up to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Finally, replace the Intake Manifold splash shield for oil, valve rocker arms, pushrods, and the lower Intake Manifold.
