2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the LH Motor and Transmission Mount on 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: To replace the left transmission mount, lift and support the truck, then remove the left tire and wheel assembly as well as the left inner splash shield. Place transmission jack under transaxle and take off transaxle mount ups nuts (Nuts, Upper) from the transaxle bracket. Carefully lift transaxle assembly and unload the transaxle mount by nuts (Nuts, Lower) from the frame, next remove transaxle mount(Transport) from the frame. For installation, be sure that you place the transaxle mount to frame and then install transaxle mount lower nuts, (Nuts, Lower), to frame and tighten to 63nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Lower the transaxle where the transaxle mount studs fit into the transaxle bracket, then install transaxle mount upper nuts (Nuts, Upper) then tighten to 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Finally, take out the transmission jack, reposition the left inner splash shield, replace the left wheel and tire assembly and lower the vehicle.
