How to replace the upper ball joint on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

You need to lift and support the vehicle before taking off the wheel and tire. You must first disconnect the Steering Knuckle and Wheel Hub after that take off the upper Ball Joint retaining clip and boot. Apply the lower Ball Joint remover and installer (J 9519-E) tool to take out the upper Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle assembly. Install the new upper Ball Joint into the Steering Knuckle through the j 9519-e lower Ball Joint remover and installer with Control Arm Bushing set j 21474-01 along with Ball Joint installation spacer j 45117. Reinstall the Steering Knuckle with Wheel Hub after attaching the upper Ball Joint with its retaining clip. Then put back the tire and wheel, put down the vehicle and track the front wheel position.
