How to replace the upper control arm on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

First, raise and support the vehicle, and then remove the tire and wheel in order to replace the upper Control Arm. Then remove the pinch bolt and nut that attach the upper Ball Joint to upper Control Arm, pull apart the Steering Knuckle from the upper Control Arm, and disconnect the upper Control Arm from the antilock brake system (ABS) wheel speed sensor wiring harness. The upper Control Arm mounting bolts are also to be removed together with the upper Control Arm. For installation, start with the upper part of the Control Arm and install it, which makes sure to refer to the fastener notice in service precautions. Mount the upper Control Arm mounting bolts and tighten them with a torque of 150 nm (111 ft. Lbs.). Re-login the abs wheel speed sensor wiring harness to the upper Control Arm and the upper Control Arm to the Steering Knuckle and slot the upper Ball Joint to the upper Control Arm to the pinch bolt and nut and tighten it to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Lastly, replace the tire and wheel, and re-check the front wheel alignment on the ground.
