How to replace the rear axle upper control arm on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must start by supporting the vehicle while it is raised after you remove the tire and wheel together with the wheelhouse liner. Support the rear axle so it rests at the designed d - height measurement. Remove the rear axle upper Control Arm to axle mounting bolt with its associated nut before uninstalling the rear axle upper Control Arm to frame mounting bolt to finally extract the rear axle upper Control Arm. The first step for installation is to install the rear axle upper Control Arm before you tighten it to the frame by hand. Before you install the rear axle upper Control Arm to the axle you must read the fastener information in the service precautions document. Tighten the mounting bolts on both rear axle upper control arms to 131 nm (97 ft. Lbs.). After removing the rear axle support replace the wheelhouse liner with your tire and wheel and lower the vehicle.
