Ball Joint is one of the car parts that perfectly reflects such Chevrolet SSR models in which there were produced from 2003 to 2006. Playing an important role of connecting the control arms and steering knuckles, the Ball Joint consists of the combination of both the up and down as well as backward and forward movement which enable the suspension movement and steering input. It is specifically because of this flexibility that the dynamics of the Chevrolet SSR can be optimized and made even safer allowing it to better handle changes in the road and input from the driver. Made from steel, this Ball Joint comes with a rubber boot to last long a carry out lubrication and prevent contamination. More to the point, ball joints that are considered as loaded may be installed on the Chevrolet SSR, while additional performance parts that may be available comprise adjustable components for suspensions altered for performance. This also increases the car's handling and stability and at the same time provides flexibility in terms of SSR compatibility. Much has also been said about the Ball Joint among the different automotive parts used in today's vehicles because this particular ball joint model has been designed and constructed to provide longer durability while at the same time improving the suspension system of the SSR. Due to special attention to both safety and performance, Ball Joint is an essential component that contributes everything to the comfort and freedom of ride this vehicle gives to the SSR fans.

Chevrolet SSR Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the lower ball joint on Chevrolet SSR?
    A:
Beginning the lower Ball Joint replacement requires vehicle support while maintaining a raised position followed by wheel and tire detachment. Using a chisel detach the Steering Knuckle with its Wheel Hub and bearing before removing the lower Ball Joint flange. Use j 9519-e (J 9519-E Ball Joint Remover and Installer Set) and j 34874 (J 34874 Booster Seal Remover/Installer) to put the lower Ball Joint into position before extracting it from the lower Control Arm. To install the lower Ball Joint you must use the j 9519-e together with j 41435 (J 41435 Ball Joint Installer) and j 45105-2 (J 45105-2 Receiver). Install the j 9519-e and j 45105-1 (J 45105-1 Ball Joint Flaring Adapter) to the lower Ball Joint before flaring the lower Ball Joint flange. Install the Steering Knuckle together with its Wheel Hub and bearing before adding the tire and wheel after having removed the j 9519-e and j 45105-1. Turn off the vehicle then position it so it is at the lowest point before performing a front wheel alignment check.
