How to replace the front door striker on 2005 Chevrolet Uplander?

You must start the replacement of front door strikers by drawing the striker position on B-pillar with a grease pencil when the front door is opened. First remove front door lock striker screws while proceeding to eliminate the front door lock striker plate along with its accompanying shim from the B-pillar. Install the front door lock striker components at the scribed B-pillar location by placing the shim first followed by the plate while securing the screws to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) with correct installation order. Front door striker must securely fit with the lock after adjusting and door frame placement while using the striker as a tool to maintain front door flatness in its position. Avoid adjusting the door by hand. Finally, close the front door.
