How to replace the front parking brake cable on 2005 Chevrolet Venture?

Change the front park brake cable by starting with the removal of the left-side instrument panel insulator combined with left-side carpet retainer after which you need to fold back the carpet for procedure access. First support the vehicle in the air and loosen the equalizer nut from the left-side cable to disengage it from the equalizer. Pull out the park brake cable end from its connector then extract both the cable from the equalizer and its guides one after another. First disconnect the underbody studs cable nuts followed by removing the clips from the cable body. Lower the vehicle and disengage the cable end from the lever clevis with the help of the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J 37043). The front part of the park brake cable needs removal from the vehicle. The new front park brake cable needs to be attached first to the vehicle after which it must connect to the park brake lever and clevis. Secure the new cable by fitting cable clips to shielded areas and tightening underbody stud cable nuts to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.). Reinstall the cable through the guides before connecting it to the equalizer and joining the connector with the cable end followed by reinstallation of the left-side cable to the equalizer. Complete the park brake cable adjustment then lower the vehicle and restore folded carpet by replacing the left-side carpet retainer along with reinstallation of the instrument panel insulator.
