2006 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2006 Buick Lucerne?
A: The project begins by raising and supporting the vehicle while you take off the tire and wheel components. Seal the exposed brake pipe connection with a rubber cap while you remove dirt from all brake pipe and hose components. Push the brake pipe fitting out of the brake hose before pulling away the brake hose retainer with a flat tool. Take the brake hose off its bracket and away from the brake caliper before throwing away both copper gaskets that may stick to the hardware. The caliper brake hose hole requires fitting with a rubber plug to stop fluid leakage. Settle the rubber plug before placing new copper brake hose gaskets on the bolt and brake hose for assembly. Secure the brake hose bolt to the caliper and tighten it to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Also check that the hose remains straight and not bent at any point. Attach the brake hose to the bracket while placing the brake hose protector onto the pipe fitting. Install the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose slot and tighten it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) after removing the rubber cap from the end of the brake pipe. Along with slowing vehicle movements never move the car before getting a firm brake pedal since brake system air buildup risks failure. Release the brake caliper's bleeder screw then put the tire and wheel back onto place.
