How to replace the front brake disc (J55) on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

Start replacing the front Brake Disc j55 by first taking off the tire and wheel unit. A c-clamp (J41013) lets you push the Piston toward the caliper bore so the caliper can move off the disc. Use mechanic's wire as a support to keep the brake caliper safe from hydraulic hose damage during the removal of the caliper with its bracket from the suspension knuckle. Apply a reference mark to the disc before you remove it from its hub location. You must prepare the Brake Disc installation surface by cleaning away all rust or contamination from the hub/axle flange and disc surfaces using j42450-a wheel hub resurfacing kit and j41013 rotor resurfacing kit. Assess the mating areas between the disc and brake system parts before installing the disc into position. Check the lateral runout of your Brake Disc setup after assembly. Adjust the disc if runout reads more than permissible values. Put back the Brake Caliper Bracket assembly along with the tire and wheel unit and position the vehicle back onto the ground. Further adjust the pads and discs if needed.
