How to replace the front brake line on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

Positioning your car on stands and taking off the wheel/tire unit allows you to replace the front brake hose. Wipe off all brake hose and brake pipe fittings before putting a rubber cap or plug on the exposed brake pipe to stop fluid leak and protect it from damage. Insert a flat tool into the brake hose retainer to detach it then take out the brake hose from its bracket. Break free the brake caliper and brake hose bolt and take off the parts while discarding stuck copper gaskets on the hose end or caliper edge. Placing a rubber seal inside the caliper bolt hole helps keep brake fluid inside the system. Install new gaskets on the brake hose then attach the brake hose bolt with gaskets to the hose tube end. Tighten the bolt to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.) ensuring the hose stays straight during installation. Secure the brake hose to its position on the bracket then add the brake hose retainer before taking off the rubber cap from the brake tube end. Fit the brake hose to the brake pipe and bolt it with a torque of 15 nm before mounting the hose bracket and bolt to the strut assembly with a torque of 9 nm. Finish the procedure by pressing the caliper bleeder valve then putting back the tire assembly with wheel and lowering the car.
