How to replace the front brake line on 2007 Cadillac DTS?

First, raise and support the vehicle, followed by removing the tire and wheel assembly to replace the front brake hose. Clean out any dirt from the brake hose and brake pipe fittings, cap the brake pipe fitting to avoid losing and contaminating the fluid. Use a flat-bladed tool to pull off the brake hose retainer, then take off the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose. Second, take off the brake hose from the bracket and the brake caliper, and throw away the two copper brake hose gaskets that may cling to the caliper or the end of the brake hose. Plug the inlet port of the brake caliper to avoid the loss of fluid, take off the hose bracket bolt from the strut assembly and remove the hose. For installation, if required, unplug the brake caliper inlet port and make sure new copper brake hose gaskets are fitted. Mount the brake hose bolt using the new gaskets and connect it to the brake hose; tighten the brake hose to caliper bolt to 40 n.m (30 lb ft - JL9) or 45 n.m (33 lb ft - J55) such that the hose is not twisted or kinked. Mount the brake hose onto the bracket, mount the brake hose retainer, and take off the cap from the brake pipe fitting end. Step 2: connect the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose and tighten it to 15 n.m (11 lb ft), and install the hose bracket and the bolt to the strut assembly and tighten the bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Finally, bleed hydraulic brake system, putting back tire and wheel assembly and reduced vehicle.
