How to replace the front brake line on 2008 Cadillac DTS?

Before replacing the front brake hose you must lift and stabilize the vehicle then take off the tire and wheel assembly. Take time to clear all dirt and foreign objects from brake hose connections before adding hose caps to block fluid flow during the work. Lift the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose before inserting a flat screwdriver to separate the fixture from the hose end. You should take off the brake hose from both the brake caliper and brake hose bracket before disposing of the copper gaskets trapped on the brake caliper or brake hose ends. Block the brake caliper inlet while putting back the hose bracket bolt on the strut assembly to maintain fluid and protect the system. Put in fresh copper brake hose gaskets by taking out the washer from the inlet port of the brake caliper first. Secure both new brake hose gaskets and bolt onto the brake hose before applying it to the caliper bolt and tightening to 40 n.m (30 lb ft) for jl9 or 45 n.m (33 lb ft) for j55. Keep the hose straight while installing and ensure no bends in the hose. Lever the brake hose into position at the brake hose bracket and add the brake hose retainer. Take out the protective cap from the brake pipe fitting outlet. Second, thread the brake pipe fitting onto the brake hose and set the torque to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Afterwards, place the hose bracket on the strut assembly and screw its bolt in place while tightening it to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Complete the job by bleeding the hydraulic brakes then placing the tire and wheel unit before allowing the car to descend.
