The first step when replacing the Coolant Pipe (LY7) requires raising and supporting the vehicle. Begin by removing the Coolant Pipe to generator bracket bolt followed by lowering the vehicle. Begin by draining the cooling system then remove the radiator outlet hose from the Coolant Pipe. Remove all wiring harnesses from the coolant inlet pipe before removing the Coolant Pipe to thermostat bolt and Coolant Pipe to cylinder head bolt so you can take out the Coolant Pipe. Installation starts with Coolant Pipe placement followed by loose assembly of Coolant Pipe bolts. First install the Coolant Pipe to thermostat bolt then secure with a torque of 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.)before installing the Coolant Pipe to cylinder head bolt secured at 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). After vehicle lift support use a torque wrench to bolt down the Coolant Pipe to generator bracket to 23 nm (17 ft.lb.) specifications.
