• Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

  A: To remove the lower Intake Manifold, first put the ignition off and pull off the fuel injector sight shield and air inlet duct. Mark the booster hose routing before removing the brake-booster check valve and hose from its position at the brake-booster and moving the Brake Booster hose to the Intake Manifold. Unplug purge solenoid valve electrical connector, purge line at purge solenoid valve, fuel injector harness electrical connector, and the Throttle Body electrical connector. Let out the wiring harness retainer, the upper Intake Manifold brace stud, and bolt, and reposition the brace using the wiring harness. Pry out the wiring harness retainer from the right side of the Throttle Body and remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, the barometric pressure sensor electrical connector, and the Intake Manifold runner control solenoid's electrical connector. Disconnect the left bank ignition coil wiring harness from the bracket and Intake Manifold bolts, but never disconnecting the upper to lower Intake Manifold bolts and being careful not to damage the fuel pipe. Relocate the Intake Manifold so that the fuel pipe connector is accessible, and removal of the fuel feed pipe retainer and disconnecting the fuel feed pipe from the Fuel Rail. Clean and check the Intake Manifold and sealing surfaces when reinstalling the Intake Manifold, if required. Fit the lower Intake Manifold gasket, then the Intake Manifold, connecting the fuel injector harness electrical connector, Intake Manifold runner control solenoid electrical connector, barometric pressure sensor electric connection, and pcv hose from the right bank camshaft cover. Install the wiring harness retainer, then wire the Throttle Body by connecting the electrical connector and connecting the fuel injector harness electrical connector by ensuring the proper engagement of the wiring harness connector. Join the fuel feed pipe to the Fuel Rail, purge line to purge solenoid valve, install the fuel pipe retainer, connect purge solenoid valve electrical connector, install Brake Booster hose and check valve to Brake Booster, install air inlet duct then install the fuel injector sight shield.
