How to replace the thermostat (RPO LE5) on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?

To replace Thermostat (RPO LE5), first remove the intake manifold cover and drain the cooling system. Unclasp the radiator outlet hose clamp located at the Thermostat cover, then take out the radiator outlet hose from the Thermostat cover. Next, you need to reposition the radiator surge tank outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat cover and pull off the radiator surge tank outlet hose. Next, take off the Thermostat cover bolts and the cover, then the Thermostat itself. Remove the Thermostat cover o-ring seal. To install, first install a new Thermostat cover o-ring seal, followed by the installing the Thermostat. Mount the Thermostat cover bolts and tighten them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Reconnect the radiator surge tank outlet hose to the Thermostat cover and locate the radiator surge tank outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat cover. Next, position the radiator outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat cover and install the radiator outlet hose to the Thermostat cover. Make the cooling system full, and finally install into the intake manifold cover.
