How to replace the front air bag sensor on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?

Disabling the SIR system should be the first step before replacing the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Apply power only after making sure the sensor is securely attached since jarring the sensor may cause deployment or result in injuries. Start by removing the grille before extracting the front discriminating sensors from the radiator support with their fasteners loose. The sensor assembly requires positioning to access the electrical connector until a connector-position assurance and electrical connector remove before extracting the sensor from the vehicle. Before mounting the sensor users must first clean both mounting surfaces while placing the sensor close to the radiator support and finally connect the sensor electrical connector. Fasten the sensor assembly to the radiator support while using 2 fasteners; tighten these fasteners to a torque of 9 N.m (80 lb in). The last step involves reinstalling the grille while enabling the SIR system.
