The first step to replace an Ignition Control Module requires an OFF ignition position and the disconnection of the electronic ignition (EI) module harness connector. Start by removing the EI module attachment screws from the module before removing the EI module. Start with satellite position of the EI module and fix it with attachment screws while maintaining proper alignment of the interconnect and correct placement of the interconnect seal before tightening each screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in). Send the module harness connector into the connection until it emits a click then test a secure lock by pulling it back.
