How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on the Automatic Transaxle - 4T45-E on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

Make sure the vehicle is safely and properly suspended before you begin working on the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the automatic transaxle - 4t45-e. Jack up the car and take off the electrical connector. Take out the output speed sensor stud first, then pull the output speed sensor out of the transaxle case and check the o-ring for damage, changing it if it's not good. Take the o-ring off the output speed sensor, and put a new o-ring on it before it is inserted into the transaxle case again. Tighten the output speed sensor stud to 11 nm (8 ft. Lbs.), put the electrical connector back, and then lower the vehicle.
