• Q: How to replace the engine oil pressure switch on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

  A: To replace the engine oil pressure sensor or switch, collect the required tools such as the oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712). First, remove left engine sight cover and clean the vicinity of the oil sensor/switch. Now come unplug the vacuum hose from the power Brake Booster and the electrical plug from the oil pressure sensor/switch piece. Remove the switch/oil pressure sensor with the help of the oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712). If re-inserting the old sensor, you can apply threadlocker sealant gm p/n 12346004 (105507002) or equivalent. Then installing the oil pressure sensor/switch attaching it with the use of the oil pressure sensor socket (J 41712) tighten it to 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). Connect the electrical connector for the oil pressure sensor/switch, reinstall the vacuum hose to the power Brake Booster, and lastly, replace the left engine sight cover.
