2006 GMC Envoy Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Shock Absorber Safely on 2006 GMC Envoy?
A: Before replacing the Shock Absorber start with supporting and lifting the vehicle and setting the rear axle on support to prevent damage to the upper Control Arm and air suspension components. Start the procedure by disconnecting the Shock Absorber upper mounting bolt followed by the lower one before extracting the Shock Absorber from the vehicle. Put in the new Shock Absorber before securing it with the lower mounting bolt to tighten at 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) and then attach the upper mounting bolt by tightening the upper mounting nut to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle when you remove the support from the rear axle.
