How to replace the front air bag sensor on 2006 GMC Sierra 1500?

In order to remove the inflatable restraint front end sensor, one needs to disable SIR system first. Do not hit the sensor and make sure that it is firmly fastened. Unplug the electrical connector and take out the sensor bolt then wipe the mounting area. Fit the sensor and reconnect the electrical connector with a horizontal installation and activate the SIR system.
