    Q:
How to replace the front air bag sensor on Cadillac Escalade EXT? Posted by Customer
    A:
The SIR system needs disabling before starting front end inflatable restraint sensor replacement work. Your safety depends on a secure inflatable restraint front end sensor fastening before powering up the system to prevent SIR deployment as well as personal injury. First disconnect the electrical connector then remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from its location. After removing the sensor bolt you should extract the sensor from your automobile. Thoroughly wash all contaminants off the mounting area before rotating the sensor arrow toward the vehicle's front. Mount the sensor level to the radiator support using a 9 N.m (79 lb in) torque on the bolt. Reinstall the CPA while connecting the electrical sensor connector then return the sensor to its mounting position. Finally, enable the SIR system.

    Q:
How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for the side impact on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step required to replace the inflatable restraint side impact sensor is to disable the SIR system. When working with the undeployed inflatable restraint seat belt pretensioner, do not hold it by the wires, or connector; instead, grip it by the piston tube such that the open part is not facing you and others to avoid personal injury. Next, you have to remove the front door trim panel, loosen the 2 inflatable restraint side impact sensor fasteners and remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor from the door. Drop the connector position assurance (CPA) and yellow 2-way harness connector. For installation, link the yellow 2-way harness connector to the inflatable restraints part-of-impact sensor and link the CPA to the connector. Then connect the inflatable restraint side impact sensor to the door and secure it with the fasteners with the help of hand tools tightening to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Finally, replace the door trim panel, and activate the SIR system.
