The replacement of the upper Fan Shroud on automatic transmission gasoline vehicles begins with clamps loosening for the air cleaner outlet duct located at the Throttle Body and mass airflow sensor. The duct must then be removed after this step. Detach the a/c line retainer from the Fan Shroud at the same time as removing the engine harness clip located on the powertrain control module (PCM) cover. You should first remove the tcm cover from the Fan Shroud by unfastening its bolts. The tcm electrical connector bolts should be unfastened until the tcm electrical connectors can be separated. This process allows for the removal of tcm and cover. Detach both Fan Shroud retainers accompanied by their bolts so you can remove the upper Fan Shroud. Start by setting the upper Fan Shroud in position before securing its bolts with torque of 9 nm using an 80-inch lb. Torque wrench. Start by putting back the tcm electrical connectors then install the Fan Shroud retainers before reuniting the tcm and cover while screwing down the tcm electrical connector bolts to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). Apply the tcm cover to the Fan Shroud before securing it with bolts which need tightening to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Connect the pcm cover engine harness clip while also restoring the a/c line retainer on the Fan Shroud and the air cleaner outlet duct. Secure the air cleaner outlet duct clamp to both Throttle Body and mass airflow sensor with a torque of 4 nm (35 inch lbs.).
