Fan Shroud, Lower

Start Fan Shroud servicing by taking off the Radiator and subsequent removal of the Radiator air baffle retainers and the Radiator air baffles. Installation starts by adding the Radiator air baffles followed by Radiator air baffle retainer attachment then returning the Radiator to its location.

Commence the replacement of the lower Fan Shroud by removing the cooling fan first. The detachment of oil cooler hose clips from lower Fan Shroud needs to be completed before starting this procedure when engine oil coolers exist in the vehicle. Begin the replacement by raising the lower Fan Shroud while breaking its retaining clips on the Radiator loose. Install the lower Fan Shroud by placing it onto the Radiator retaining clips before applying sufficient downward pressure. Complete the process by reinstalling the cooling fan while you may need to affix the oil cooler hose clip to the lower Fan Shroud.

Begin the replacement of the engine coolant fan lower shroud by removing the cooling fan first. The installation process requires your attention to detaching the oil cooler hose clip from its position on the lower Fan Shroud when your vehicle has such a system. First lift the lower Fan Shroud to allow the removing of retaining clips which secure it to the Radiator. After detachment, position the Radiator inlet hose back in its original place. First, remove the oil cooler line clip from the 6.0l lower Fan Shroud then proceed to disconnect its retainers and bolts. The service requires removing both the upper Fan Shroud together with the fan and clutch assembly. The lower Fan Shroud can be removed after lifting it to separate from the Radiator retaining clips. Position the lower Fan Shroud onto the retaining clips of the Radiator before firmly pressing it down to install. The installation process starts with putting back the fan and clutch assembly followed by installing the upper Fan Shroud. Begin by fitting the Fan Shroud bolts before tightening them to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.) and proceeding with the Fan Shroud retainer installation process. The Radiator inlet hose installation process begins with attaching the 6.0l oil cooler line clip and moving the hose before securing the hose and clip for 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l engines and lastly adds the air inlet duct.

The replacement process of the lower Fan Shroud starts by removing the cooling fan. Start your replacement of the lower Fan Shroud by removing the Engine Oil Cooler hose clip from this part when employing an Engine Oil Cooler system. You should then lift the lower Fan Shroud while using your fingers to separate it from the retaining clips on the Radiator. You should place the lower Fan Shroud onto the Radiator retaining clips before pushing it securely into position. The installation process requires reattaching the oil cooler hose clip to its position on the lower Fan Shroud when the engine possesses an oil cooler system. Finally, reinstall the cooling fan.

Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps from the throttle body and mass airflow sensor, then remove the air cleaner outlet duct.

Reinstall the fan shroud retainers, and if equipped, attach the inlet radiator hose retainer and the throttle body heater hose retainer to the fan shroud.

Reattach the oil cooler hose clip to the lower fan shroud.

Install the fan shroud retainers, reconnect the TCM electrical connectors, and install the TCM and cover, tightening the TCM electrical connector bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).

Remove the fan shroud retainers and bolts, and take out the upper fan shroud.

Reinstall the cooling fan.

Reattach the oil cooler hose clip to the lower fan shroud.

Proceed to remove the fan shroud retainers and bolts to take out the upper fan shroud.

Attach the inlet radiator hose retainer and the throttle body heater hose retainer to the fan shroud.

Proceed to remove the fan shroud retainers and bolts to take out the upper fan shroud.

Install the fan shroud bolts and tighten them to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).

Next, detach the throttle body heater hose retainer and the inlet radiator hose retainer from the fan shroud.

Attach the TCM cover to the fan shroud and secure it with bolts tightened to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).

Remove the fan shroud retainers and bolts, then take out the upper fan shroud.

Reinstall the cooling fan.

Begin by placing the upper fan shroud in position and install the fan shroud bolts, tightening them to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Reinstall the oil cooler hose clip to the lower fan shroud.

Install the air cleaner outlet duct, tightening the clamps at the throttle body and MAF/IAT sensor to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).

Reinstall the engine harness clip to the PCM cover, attach the A/C line retainer to the fan shroud, and then reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct. Finally, tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body and mass airflow sensor, ensuring the clamp screws are tightened to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).

Install the oil cooler hose clip to the lower fan shroud and snap the oil cooler lines into the clip.

Remove the fan shroud retainers and bolts, followed by the upper fan shroud.

Unscrew the transmission control module (TCM) cover bolts and take off the TCM cover from the fan shroud.

Remove the throttle body heater hose retainer and the inlet radiator hose retainer from the fan shroud.

Reattach the air cleaner outlet duct, tightening the clamp at the throttle body to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.) and the clamp at the mass airflow sensor to the same torque specification.
