How to replace the right engine mount on 2006 GMC Sierra 3500?

The first step to replace a right engine mount requires you to properly elevate the vehicle through lifting it for a 2 wheel drive (2WD) until you can reach the front wheelhouse opening whereas a 4 wheel drive (4WD) vehicle needs to be lifted for front tire and wheel removal. Start by taking out the left front tire combined with wheel then move to the wheelchair inner panel push pin retainers before removing the wheelchair inner panel. Get inside the wheelhouse opening to erase bolts securing the engine mount heat shield and extract the heat shield. The maintenance procedure starts with removing the engine mount-to-engine mount bracket bolt followed by the oil pan skid plate bolts with plate if present and engine shield bolts with shield. Use an appropriate jack to lift the engine until the engine mount can detach from its engine mount bracket before removing both types of mount bolts and the engine mount itself. The next step requires removal of the bracket through bolts along with the bracket itself. The engine mount bracket installation process begins with mounting the bracket onto the frame while removing the original adhesive and cleaning bolt threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent solution. Should be followed by threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent application on bolts before tight installation. Install the engine mount bracket through bolts loosely before positioning the engine mount against the motor and fitting the engine mount-to-engine bolts loosely. Torque the engine mount bracket through bolts to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) at the same time as torqueing the engine mount-to-engine bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Secure the engine shield in place along with its bolts while tightening them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) before lowering the engine. The oil pan skid plate together with its bolts should be installed next followed by torquing the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). First add the engine mount heat shield onto the assembly then install the bolts connecting the engine mount to engine mount bracket and tighten them at 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.). Reinstall the wheelhouse inner panel before placing both the wheelhouse inner panel push pin retainers and left front tire and wheel and finally lower the vehicle.
