How to Replace the Front Lower Control Arm Bushing on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?

You must first remove the lower Control Arm and clamp it into a vise before you begin this process. Fasten the puller bolt with a 1/2 x 20 in standard thread nut. Order your bushing removal tools by assembling the nut , j 21474-01 washer , j 21474-01 bearing , j 21474-5 and j 21474-01 puller bolt . Full tighten the puller bolt until it removes the bushing before removing the j 21474-01 and j 21474-5 components. During the installation process apply liquid hand soap or equivalent to new bushings before using the 1/2 x 20 in standard thread nut with puller bolt. Use the following tools for bushing installation: nut together with j 21474-01 washer and j 21474-01 bearing plus j 21474-5 and j 21474-01 puller bolt. The puller bolt must be tightened until the bushing is fully seated into the Control Arm before disassembly of j 21474-01 and j 21474-5 takes place. Control Arm extraction from the vise leads to lower Control Arm installation.
