How to Replace a Shock Absorber in a Suspension Strut Assembly on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?

Initiating strut assembly replacement starts through removing the upper mounting nuts on each strut. Use only a frame-contact vehicle lift to raise the vehicle while completely avoiding suspension-contact lifting equipment. After lifting the vehicle and securing it into place remove the wheel and tire before marking the strut against the knuckle. Strut lower bolts and nuts require removal before you can remove the strut from the vehicle. Install the strut first by following all instructions specified in the Service Precautions Fastener Notice. Install the strut upper mounting nuts after you tighten them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). The prevailing torque type fasteners are repairable if both the fastener and its partner meet cleanliness and rust-free requirements and reach 3 N.m (27 lb in) torque generation before reaching a seated position. otherwise, replace the fastener. Position the strut according to the knuckle mark before tightening its lower nuts to 120 N.m (89 lb ft). Following installation of the tire and wheel, lower the vehicle before aligning the front wheels.
