• Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2007 Buick Lucerne?

  A: First disconnect and seal the brake pipes while removing the Brake Master Cylinder from its electrical sensor connection. After plugging the open brake pipe ends you can take out the 2 master cylinder nuts and remove the master cylinder unit. When reusing the brakes remove the tank part of the master cylinder. Install the brake reservoir onto the master cylinder after its removal before carrying out master cylinder bench bleeding. Thoroughly install the master cylinder to the Brake Booster by placing the 2 mounting nuts first and tightening them to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Pull out brake pipe plugs then attach the brake pipes to the master cylinder while tightening fittings to 29 n.m (21 lb ft). Join the electrical connector to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and let out air from the brake lines.
