How to replace a shock absorber on 2007 Buick Lucerne?

Begin by raising your vehicle before you remove the tire and wheel to change the Shock Absorber. Loosen the Control Arm with a jack stand while performing a disconnect procedure on the automatic level control air tube from the shock. The first step is to remove lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts before you extract the trunk trim for access to upper mounting nuts on the Shock Absorber. Proceed to remove the Shock Absorber cover on top before you disconnect the retaining nuts and reinforcement of the upper Shock Absorber to extract the shock from the vehicle. First place the shock within the vehicle while reinstalling its reinforcement and retaining nuts before settling the upper Shock Absorber retaining nuts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After reinstalling the upper Shock Absorber cover and trunk trim there are two steps to complete. First, fasten the lower Shock Absorber retaining bolts. Secondly, tighten all retaining bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Complete installation requires reinserting the automatic level control air tube to the Shock Absorber and reinstalling both tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle.
