- Q: How to replace the rear exhaust pipe on 2007 Cadillac DTS?A: A vehicle uplift process must begin before you start the replacement of the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe. Take off the Catalytic Converter to rear Exhaust Manifold pipe nuts while pushing the exhaust system backward enough to pass the studs above the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe. Remove the Catalytic Converter Gasket before removing both the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe bolts that connect to the right Exhaust Manifold and the front Exhaust Manifold pipe. Discard the gasket and seal from the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe. The next procedure requires separating the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe flange. New rear Exhaust Manifold pipe gaskets and a seal should be positioned on the pipe before inserting the two rear Exhaust Manifold pipe to flange bolts while also inserting bolts with the gasket placed between the Exhaust Manifold and the pipe. The installation involves placing the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe on the front Exhaust Manifold pipe and Exhaust Manifold and securing all bolts with 40 n.m (30 lb ft) torque for rear exhaust to manifold pipe bolts then 25 n.m (18 lb ft) for rear exhaust to front Exhaust Pipe bolts. Position a new Catalytic Converter Gasket onto the Catalytic Converter studs then position the Catalytic Converter behind the rear Exhaust Manifold pipe along with applying 25 n.m (18 lb ft) of torque before setting the vehicle.
