Safety protection through goggles and gloves should be your first step before commencing the front exhaust manifold pipe replacement. The first step requires removal of the rear exhaust manifold pipe and the transaxle. First remove the front Exhaust Pipe by taking out bolts which attach it to the exhaust manifold. The egr valve inlet pipe requires a new seal when it disconnects from the water pump housing because of its crush seal connection. Start by detaching the egr inlet pipe nut from the front exhaust manifold pipe before continuing with removal of the front exhaust manifold pipe to lower crankcase bolt and front exhaust manifold pipe to cylinder head stud to finally remove the front exhaust manifold pipe itself. The service technician must eliminate the front exhaust manifold pipe seal from the left exhaust manifold before performing the removal of the exhaust manifold flange retainer components. Position the retainer and a new front exhaust manifold pipe seal between the left exhaust manifold while inserting the front exhaust manifold pipe into position. Secure the front exhaust manifold pipe to cylinder head stud with 25 nm torque while the front exhaust manifold pipe to lower crankcase bolt needs 25 nm torque for installation completion. The egr pipe nut should be bolted onto the front exhaust manifold where torque should reach 60 nm then the front Exhaust Pipe must be attached to its manifold with a 25 nm torque setting. Place back both the transaxle and the rear exhaust manifold pipe in its original position.
