• Q: How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on 2007 Cadillac XLR?

  A: Position the vehicle properly on a rack before working on its front fender to replace the windshield pump. Keep the fender in its original position when you take off the left front wheel. Unbolt the three fasteners (1, 2, 3) on the wheelhouse backside at its lower left front section. Use a container to drain Washer Pump fluid through the hose output before disconnecting the electrical connector at the pump base. To take out the washer motor you need to twist off its pump part from the washer fluid storage tank. Place the Washer Pump rubber grommet into the solvent reservoir after greasing its hard part and grommet surface with washer fluid to make installation easier. Push the pump body through the grommet until it fits as intended and attach the electrical connector as well as the output hose to the Washer Pump. Lower the vehicle while replacing washer solvent in the reservoir. Test if the washer pumps and level sensor work correctly while looking for leaks. Reposition the fender to fit with the body components before putting back the three splashboard mounting elements. Finally install the left front wheel.
